Yesterday, I had a keto drink by a company called Sated. It’s supposed to be a complete meal replacement drink. When you drink one, you’re supposed to be “sated” and not be hungry for hours. I wasn’t. After a couple of hours, I had cravings (which I caved to) for salty stuff. Translated; Ruffles potato chips. I remember that when I eat a lot of sugar, I then want something salty to balance it out. And vice versa. The drink is quite yummy and can be easily chugged. You don’t have to force it down in small amounts over an hour or two. I got the naturally sweetened strawberry version. 1.5 cups of water, one large scoop of powder, one small scoop of keto shake oil. Mix well. Drink. Tastes similar to a milkshake you’d get at a fast food place. Now, I could drink a large one of those and maybe go for more. The Sated drink I believe I can tell I couldn’t do that much (I just drank one about 30 minutes ago. Time for my first blood glucose test. Hmm. 120. Beginning was 131. I may have to do a glucose test some morning to see if the same trend happens without eating. 60 minute check: 131. 90 minute check: 118. These readings are all over the place. But they haven’t spiked high like I thought they might. Two hour check: 107.
So, the readings are all over the place. But I think I can safely say that the drink isn’t spiking my blood sugar. It also isn’t sating me.
